Chabad Outreach Center, founded in 1994, is nurtured by concerned members in the Valley Stream area and is dedicated to the strengthening of our Jewish faith, principles, identity, commitment, and pride. Chabad Outreach Center provides a home away from home for any Jewish man, woman or child who walks through its doors. The Rabbi, staff and volunteers bring the light of Torah and Jewish tradition to all Jews, and acceptance of every Jew on his or her individual level, regardless of level of religious commitment or practice. By blending traditional values with modern-day technology, Chabad reaches even the most alienated, helping them appreciate their roots and enthusiastically identify with Judaism.
In 1998, an affiliation was established between COC and Valley Stream’s Congregation Beth Shalom, a mutually beneficial relationship that provided the opportunity to offer full synagogue services with the unique Chabad warmth and love. In 2005, the two successfully united as one.
Today, Chabad Outreach Center’s successful programming includes the highly acclaimed multimedia Hebrew school, ongoing programs for Long Island’s Hebrew speaking community, a full adult education program and popular holiday celebrations.
