Chabad of West Hempstead serves a vibrant Jewish community as well as the less well-served Jewish populations of its surrounding areas, including the Jewish students at Adelphi University and Nassau
Community College, for whom the Rabbi provides stimulating educational resources and indispensable social services.Their on-campus presence has been enhanced by the newly-opened Chabad House at Hofstra. After three years of offering limited services to Jewish students and faculty at Long Island’s largest private university, Chabad now offers Jewish Hofstra students their own full-time Rabbi and Rebbetzin,
outreach professionals, Rabbi Shmuel and Mrs. Chavi Lieberman. In a short period of time, Chabad has made a significant impact on Jewish life in the region it serves, running a host of regularly scheduled programs. Their motto, “Everyone matters and everyone can make a difference,” reflects their service to the entire community: children and youth, adults and seniors, and students. Most notably, the Friendship Circle, providing teen volunteers to help special-needs children, has proven to be a highly successful program.
With momentum ever growing, Chabad of West Hempstead looks forward to serving the complete needs of any local Jew, ensuring that no one is ever turned away.
